An interactive map shows the exact locations of speed cameras on roads across the country.

The fixed charge fine for driving over the speed limit is €160 along with three penalty points.

€9 million was earmarked in Budget 2025 for up to more 100 speed cameras to be installed across the countries with road deaths trending in the wrong direction since the pandemic.

Two average speed cameras are now in operation on the N3 between Kilduff and Billis in Co Cavan, and on the N5 between Lislackagh and Cuilmore in Swinford, Co Mayo.

Average speed cameras track a vehicle’s speed over a distance instead of at a single point. This will allow gardaí to monitor a driver’s average speed while driving between the two…
