Mount Temple Comprehensive School, Saturday 26th October – Monday 28th October
This is Irelands largest Model Railway Exhibition with over 40 stands and some of Irelands finest Model Railways will be on display. An excellent day out for all of the family is guaranteed.
The Main Attractions will include ‘Dundalk Works’ This MRSI layout is making a welcome return to the exhibition scene featuring finely detailed models of both the former Great Northern Railway of Ireland works at Dundalk and the Boyne Viaduct at Drogheda, it is back after a 15 year absence.
Another layout making a welcome return is ‘Dun Laoghaire’ from the South Dublin Model Railway club depicting the Co Dublin station in recent times along with plenty of contemporary era Irish Trains running. This layout is celebrating its 40th anniversary, originally being commissioned by CIE to celebrate the opening of the DART system in 1984
One of the largest travelling Model Railway Layouts in Ireland is ‘Little Siddington’ from the Wexford Model Railway Club and this will also be on display, being over 10m long, along with a display from the FREMO Ireland group which is another large layout built by a group of Polish enthusiasts based in Ireland
Other Attractions include a large display from the Brick.ie Lego group, the Irish Plastic Modellers Society showcasing a large range of Military aircraft from around the world and the T-Trak group with their modular layout
The show will be fully supported by the trade with all kinds of modelling equipment available, from model trains to tools and even complete model railways. Large selections of pre owned model railway equipment at bargain prices will also be available. There will also be representatives of Irish Model Railway manufacturers including our show sponsor – Irish Railway Models/Accurascale who will be launching several brand new Irish outline models over the weekend.
