Taoiseach Simon Harris set to confirm November general election

The election won’t be called until after Halloween.

November 22 and November 29 are the two remaining possibilities.

Going into December is viewed as making the campaign too long.

Mr Martin and Mr O’Gorman are both on board for a general election next month.

The Dáil sits this week, then takes a mid-term break for Halloween and returns in the first week of November. However, that’s now expected to be the week when the general election is called.
