Status yellow rain warnings in place for two counties as Met Éireann warns of spot flooding
Met Éireann has issued two status yellow rain warnings for counties Cork and Waterford this evening, warning of heavy and persistent rain that will lead to spot flooding.
The warning for Cork comes into effect from 5pm and will remain in place until 11pm tonight, while the warning for Waterford will be in place from 6pm until 2am.
The day will start largely dry, though rain will develop in western counties from midday and slowly spread eastwards into the evening.
Showers will turn heavy at times in the southwest and south, bringing with them a chance of flooding.
Highest temperatures will reach between 7 and 12 degrees before dropping between 3 and 7 degree overnight, when conditions will remain wet and foggy in some areas.
Monday will be dry with bright, sunny spells and some light rain in the northwest of the country.
It will be milder than previous days as temperatures are expected to reach between 11 to 15 degrees.
