Washout weather for most of Ireland as Met Éireann issues warnings for nine counties
The worst of the weather is set to hit the south and south east, with a Status Orange alert in place for Cork, Waterford, Carlow, Kilkenny and Wexford with intense and thundery downpours are set to target the region.
The forecaster has warned of a risk of flooding, dangerous driving conditions and possible travel disruption for the five counties, with the warning in place until midnight.
It comes as Met Eireann has issued a separate Status Yellow rain warning for Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow that is in place until 8pm.
There are also Yellow warnings in place on all coasts, with some lasting until midnight.
There will be possible flooding, difficult travel conditions and possible fallen branches and trees on roads due to heavy rain and strong winds.
