More CCTV is set to be rolled out in Dublin’s inner city under a significant new plan being brought to Cabinet in the coming weeks.
Taoiseach Simon Harris returns from New York today and will brief his colleagues on a strategic plan for the north inner city.
The plan recommends more camera surveillance in areas where there is high anti-social behaviour.
Anti-social behaviour in the north inner city has been an ongoing concern – particularly since the Dublin riots last year.
It also looks at the idea of subsidies being given to allow primary school children to attend activities out of school by supporting more clubs in the area.
Senior Ministers will also be briefed this morning on plans to ban XL Bully dogs.
From next Tuesday, it will be illegal to import, breed, sell or re-home the breed,
Then, from next February, it will be against the law to own an XL Bully, without an exemption from a local authority.
