Old garda station in leafy south Dublin village up for sale via online auction next month for close to €1 million
The former Dalkey Garda Station closed in 2012 after An Garda Síochána completed a comprehensive review of its district and station network, which led to 39 station closures in the same year and 100 further stations in 2013.
The five-bed property, which has four bathrooms, is up for sale via online auction next month, with a minimum starting bid of €900,000.
The successful bidder could see themselves next door to some of the village’s well-known residents, including Bono, Chris De Burgh and Pat Kenny.
Auctioneers DNG Dun Laoghaire have characterised the sale of the property as a “superb ‘mixed use’ investment opportunity” located in the heart of Dalkey Heritage Town.
They said: “This attractive Victorian property of an impressive 288 sq.m boasts superb potential with enough internal space for up to 5 bedrooms (subject to change of use planning permission).”
