Bewley’s Cafe , Saturday 21st September – Saturday 28th September
An Táin Bó Yoga seeks to give a unique bilingual cultural experience to locals and visitors of Dublin City Centre by combining yoga, storytelling, music and great coffee.
An Táin Bó Yoga tells the tale of Cú Chulainn, from birth to death through yoga poses. It is based on the epic tale of An Táin Bó Cúailnge which is seen as the most important event in a body of Irish heroic legends and sagas known as the Ulster Cycle. It focuses on the mythical Ulster King Conchobar Mac Nessa and his court at Emain Macha, the hero Cú Chulainn, and their conflict with the Queen of Connaught Medb. These tales have been passed orally for over a millennia and have provided inspiration for the Irish writers of the Gaelic revival movement around the turn of the 20th century such as Lady Gregory, William Butler Yeats and John Millington Synge.
