A cloudy Sunday will bring some showers ahead of the warmer week with plenty of sunshine, Met Éireann has said.

This morning will be mostly cloudy in Munster and Leinster, bringing outbreaks of rain and drizzle which will become most persistent in the southern coastal counties. However, the rain will clear to the southeast later this afternoon.

Meanwhile, Connacht and Ulster will enjoy drier and brighter weather, extending to all areas later. Temperatures will range between 15 and 18C before dropping to 6 and 10C overnight.

Sunday night might remain dry and calm, with clear spells and a few mist or fog patches.

Met Éireann has forecast a sunny week as it will see warm and largely dry weather with bright or sunny spells and temperatures in the high teens to low 20s.
