Man arrested in connection with €10m mobile device fraud investigation

A man has been arrested as part of an investigation into the supply of counterfeit mobile devices.

It is estimated that the phone company involved has been defrauded to the tune of €10 million.

To date, as part of this investigation, 14 bank accounts have been frozen while over €143,245 in cash has been seized.

The man, aged in his 40s, was arrested on Wednesday September 11th and is currently being held in a Garda station in Dublin.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
