Last splash of summer? Met Éireann forecasts 25C and thunderstorms for weekend ahead

Mild and humid weather, possible thunderstorms and temperatures set to hit 25C – here’s what Met Éireann has forecast over the next early September days.

This Thursday morning looks to be dry and sunny, with the west of the country enjoying the best of the sunshine and the north becoming a bit cloudier.

The east and south might see a few possible light showers during the day. Meanwhile, some rain is likely to push into the south-eastern counties this evening.

Temperatures will range between 16 and 20C while the winds might turn strong at times near eastern and south-eastern coasts.

It will be mostly dry overnight, with long clear spells. Tonight will be also mild and humid, with temperatures dropping to 12 and 15C.

Tomorrow morning will continue with the warm and humid weather, bringing spells of sunshine across the country. However, by evening time, thunder rain can be expected which might affect the southern counties – especially coastal areas.
