In hindsight, it was a doomed venture, a pipe dream. Like Mayo for Sam, Oasis for Croker would be something that happens for other people. And you know this, deep down. But also, you still think, ah, sure, you have to try.

And so the blue app beckoned, and I went to bed early on Friday night, ready for a 7am start. A ‘pre-sale’ had apparently scooped up a goodly amount of the entry-level tickets, but at around 7.30am this hadn’t dented my optimism.
