Fota Wildlife cyberattack: customers urged to cancel cards used to make payments on site

The popular Cork-based amenity is warning that customers should now cancel any credit or debit cards used at the park between May 12 and August 27 this year

“We strongly recommend that you cancel the credit or debit card that have been used to make payments on the Fota Wildlife Park website,” the Cork-based organisation said in an email to customers.

“If you use the same password for other accounts, [we recommend] that you also change your password on those accounts.”

The park authorities are also telling customers that they must now start keeping a close eye for “suspicious or unusual activity” on their bank accounts.

Particular attention is drawn to transactions between the muddle of May and the end of August.

“If you carried out a transaction on our website between the dates of 12 May 2024 and 27 August 2024, there is a risk that your financial information may be compromised,” the park told customers.
