Met Éireann has issued a Yellow rain warning for Donegal this Sunday due to possible heavy and persistent rain.

The county might also see localised flooding due to saturated ground conditions.

The national forecaster has also warned the road users travelling through Donegal of difficult travelling conditions this Sunday.

The rain warning has been in place since this morning and will last until 3pm today.

Meanwhile, the whole country can expect outbreaks of rain today.

The rain will spread eastwards to all areas this morning. It might turn heavy in Connacht and Ulster and persist through the day with the risk of spot flooding in the northwest.

However, the rain in Munster and Leinster will be light while some drier and brighter intervals will develop in the south this afternoon.

The temperatures will range between 14 and 19C today, before dropping to 14 and 16C tonight.
