Four Irish League players have been involved in a car crash this morning.

They were travelling to the game between Dungannon Swifts and Ballymena on Saturday.

All four play for Dungannon.

Dungannon tried – and failed – to get today’s game postponed.

The club said: “Unfortunately four of our first team squad have been involved in a RTC on the way to our fixture against Ballymena United today.

“We will give a further update later after the game.

“We wish the four boys a full and speedy recovery.”

Fans from other clubs have sent their well wishes to the players affected.

Speaking on BBC Radio Ulster’s Saturday Sportsound, where he was a studio guest, Carrick Rangers striker Curtis Allen passed on his well-wishes to everyone caught up in the incident.

He said: “It’s not nice to hear. Obviously players travel up and down the road in the Irish League. I travel with four other boys myself all over the place. Fingers crossed…
