‘I couldn’t believe it, I kept asking are these my results’ – Four students at Dublin school get eight H1s in Leaving Cert

Monica Keogh (18), from Glasnevin and Caoimhe McDaid (18), from Clontarf, both received eight H1s, scoring the maximum 625 points.

They were just two of more than 60,800 students across the country that received their Leaving Certificate results this morning.

Ms Keogh, who attended the Institute of Education on Leeson’s Street in Dublin, said she was “shocked” when she saw her final results.

“I was so nervous this week and even this morning, with the countdown to 10am. But when I opened it up and saw each grade one by one, I just couldn’t believe it,” she told the Irish Independent.

She credited all of her teachers at the city centre school, adding that she was “so proud” of the all the work that she put in over the two years.

Ms McDaid, her classmate, said she kept refreshing the webpage this morning…
