Ex-footballer and Match of the Day presenter Jermaine Jenas has been sacked from presenting The One Show and the football programme.

He has presented a number of flagship programmes for the UK’s national broadcaster, and has worked on some of the biggest sporting events, including the 2024 Euros.

The former Spurs midfielder had been touted by some as a long-term replacement for Gary Lineker.

The 41-year-old has been removed from the BBC One evening programme following an internal investigation by the corporation because of alleged complaints about his behaviour, The Sun has reported.

A BBC spokesperson said: “We can confirm that he is no longer part of our presenting line-up.”

He has not presented The One Show, where he was made a permanent co-host in 2021, since July 22 when it took a two-week break for the Olympics.
