Woman who lost husband and children in road tragedy pays tribute on fourth anniversary – ‘My heart will always ache’
On August 2020 at around 10pm, the car in which Geraldine was travelling in with her family went off the road and entered Lough Foyle at Quigley’s Point.
Geraldine’s two children Tomás (14) and Amelia (6) and her husband John lost their lives in the tragedy.
Taking to social media to mark the fourth anniversary of the tragedy on Tuesday, Geraldine said she climbed the Stairway to Heaven boardwalk in their memory.
In an emotional tribute posted online, Geraldine said the pain and heartache she feels will never go away.
“They say time is a healer. A phrase/quote I’ve heard many times over these past four years, but not one I would agree with.
“Today marks the fourth anniversary of losing my beloved John, Tomás and Amelia, and my heart aches just as much today as it did from the start and I know it will always ache with every heartbeat.
