A man who appeared in court over the weekend charged with the murder of his partner whose body was discovered at an apartment in Midleton, Co Cork on Friday has been further remanded in custody.
Adam Corcoran (29) with an address at John Barry House, Connolly Street in Midleton, Co Cork appeared at a special sitting of Mallow District Court in Co Cork on Sunday. He was charged with murder contrary to common law of 27-year-old Daena Walsh.
Mr Corcoran was remanded in custody to appear before the court again on Tuesday morning by video link.
At Mallow District Court on Tuesday, Inspector Tony O’Sullivan sought a two-week remand in the case. Defence solicitor Pat Horan said that his client consented to the remand. DPP directions are awaited in the case.
Judge Marie Keane remanded Mr Corcoran in custody until August 20th for DPP directions. He will also appear by video link on the next occasion.
