Man (20s) seriously injured and vehicles damaged as brawl erupts on streets of Mullingar town
The incident, which took place along Mullingar’s Austin Friar Street in Mullingar, Co Westmeath on Friday evening (August 2) is now the subject of a garda investigation.

A man in his 20s was rushed to hospital in the aftermath of an incident which senior gardaí are treating as violent disorder that involved several young men becoming embroiled in an unsavoury row along one of the town’s busiest thoroughfares.
The incident, which occurred at around 5pm, was followed a short time later by a road traffic collision involving two cars and a van.
The Irish Independent understands gardaí believe the violent nature of both are linked to an ongoing feud involving two rivalling factions in the town.
“Gardaí are investigating an assault on Austin Friar Street, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath on Friday 2nd of August 2024,” said a garda spokesperson.
