406 patients waiting for hospital beds

A total of 406 admitted patients are waiting for beds this morning according to today’s Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) Trolley Watch.

It said 314 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 92 patients are waiting in wards elsewhere in the hospital.

The most overcrowded hospital is Cork University Hospital, where there are 65 patients waiting for beds.

After this, the most overcrowded hospitals are University Hospital Limerick (61 patients), University Hospital Galway and Sligo University Hospital (both 34 patients) and St James’s Hospital (31 patients).

The hospital with the most patients waiting for a bed in the emergency department was Cork University Hospital with 60 patients, followed by University Hospital Galway and St James’s Hospital, which both had 31.
