This weekend will bring a mixture of sunny spells and heavy rain, which might lead to possible spot flooding, Met Éireann has said.

This morning, eastern and southeastern coastal areas will see mist and drizzle, while much of the country can expect a mixture of cloud and hazy sunny spells for a time.

It will become cloudier across west Munster, Connacht and west Ulster in the afternoon and evening, with outbreaks of rain gradually pushing in off the Atlantic. Temperatures will range between 17 and 22C, with the midlands and east remaining the warmest.
