Republic of Ireland striker Troy Parrott is leaving Tottenham after the north London club agreed a fee with Dutch club AZ Alkmaar in a deal worth around €8million.

Parrott, 22, has been at Tottenham since 2017, but he has failed to break into their first team and has spent time out on loan over the past three years.

Parrott made his Premier League debut for Spurs during Jose Mourinho’s time as manager in February 2000.

Yet he has failed to build on that breakthrough and had spells out on loan with Millwall, Ipswich, MK Dons and Preston before spending last season on loan at Excelsior in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Now he will be back in the Netherlands next season after sealing a permanent deal that ends his stay at Tottenham.
