And so the green dragon has been slain. How did Cork do it? By forcing Limerick to chase the game, getting them into that position every team wanted: four or five points down inside the last 10 minutes.

Limerick are a bit like the South African rugby team in that they have their bomb squad to come in and, usually, the wearing down is done by that stage. This was the first time we’ve seen the champions in that situation where they needed a late goal to pull it out of the bag.
