South Africa v Ireland: Andy Farrell’s men take on world champions in Pretoria
TEAM NEWS:
With their last outing together being a Six Nations title deciding 17-13 win over Scotland in March, Andy Farrell has opted for an experienced lineup with a couple of refreshing twists. Peter O’Mahony captains the side from openside flanker, while Jamie Osborne will win his debut cap with a starting berth at full-back. The 22-year-old is partnered by James Lowe and Calvin Nash on the wings, with Bundee Aki and Robbie Henshaw in midfield.
Elsewhere, Craig Casey gets the nod in the absence of the injured Jamison Gibson-Park. The pack remains largely unchanged from the norm with the likes of Andrew Porter, Dan Sheehan, Tadgh Beirne, and Caelan Doris all expected to put in considerable shifts. Farrell has also opted for a traditional 5/3 split on the bench.
