Question: I am depressed and unhappy with my life. I am 35 years old. I just cannot make friends. I can’t socialise. I would like to have a girlfriend and have a normal life. I’m in full-time employment, but always had a problem with any kind of relationships during school and third level.
I am having counselling, but find my local GP does not understand mental-health issues other than to put me on medication — some of which has unpleasant side effects.
