Woman dies in hospital after being hit by motorbike in Coolock, Dublin
A female pedestrian has died in hospital after they were hit by a motorcycle in north Dublin yesterday evening.
The incident occurred on the R139 at Coolock at around 7.15pm.
According to gardaí, the victim was taken to hospital, but died early this morning.
“Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian that occurred shortly before 7.15pm on Wednesday, June 19 on the R139 at Coolock, Dublin 17,” gardai said.
“The pedestrian, a female in her 40s, was taken to Beaumont Hospital with serious injuries. She has since been pronounced deceased and a post-mortem examination will be arranged. The motorcyclist was uninjured.”
The R139 was closed while an examination by Forensic Collision Investigators was conducted, however, the road has since re-opened.
Gardaí, meanwhile, are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
