Weather Ireland: Met Éireann forecasts sunny spells and temperatures to hit 20 degrees – but heavy rain still on the cards

Sunny spells and dry stretches are on the way next week, but heavy rain is still possible for parts of the country, Met Éireann has said.

Sunday will begin dry and sunny but cloud and rain will move across many parts of the country and temperatures will be between 13C and 18C.

Overnight it will stay somewhat mild with patchy rain and drizzle and temperatures of between 9C to 11C.

Next week will start out cloudy and there will be some rain and drizzle, though it will become drier as Monday goes on with the chance of some sunny spells appearing at times.

Highest temperatures tomorrow will be between 13C and 18C. There will be some light showers on Monday night and temperatures will stay between 7C and 11C.

Tuesday morning will be cloudy with some showers mainly around northern coastal areas. Conditions will improve as the day goes on with sunny spells developing and temperatures between 13C and 17C.
