John Mullins stood out among Irish business leaders of his generation for the diversity of his direct involvement across a swathe of Irish life – taking leadership roles in everything from politics to sport and business and climate change.

Mullins, who did this week aged 57, was regarded by many as ‘Mr Cork’ by many, but he was as comfortable and successful in Paris and Oman as he was on Lee side and he spent much of his early career, and won initial success, in Dublin.
