Heavy showers today as Met Éireann forecasts cooler temperatures for the week

This morning will see some heavy showers in east Munster and south Leinster, which will later clear. Showers in the west of the country will spread eastwards in the early afternoon, some heavy with a chance of hail and thunder. Highest temperatures will range from 10 to 12 degrees.

Showers will come to an end in most areas early tonight, though there will be further showers in the west. Many areas will see clear spells, but it will turn mostly cloudy in the east. Lowest temperatures will range from 1 to 5 degrees.

Tomorrow will be mainly dry with just well scattered showers. There are sunny spells expected for many areas, though it will remain mostly cloudy in the east of the country. Highest temperatures will be between 9 and 12 degrees.
