RTÉ staff can apply for voluntary redundancies within weeks, employees told
RTÉ staff will be able to apply for redundancies after Easter, employees have been told.
Top brass at the organisation are planning to open applications on Wednesday, April 23, for four weeks “provided all necessary materials have been finalised”.
Redundancies will be capped at €300,000, similar to the organisation’s 2017 and 2021 voluntary exit schemes.
The voluntary exit package will be broken into two parts – “voluntary severance” for staffers aged under 55 and “voluntary early retirement” for staffers aged over 55.
“To be eligible, staff must have at least two years of continuous service. Members of the Leadership Team are not eligible to apply,” RTÉ staff were told today.
All employees who apply for redundancies this year will have to leave on or before December 31.
The full package of details around the exit package will be provided to staffers once the voluntary exit package opens for applications.
