Two (60s) hospitalised as ‘serious’ crash closes main road to Rosslare Europort in Wexford

Two people aged in their 60s have been rushed to Wexford General Hospital for treatment this (Monday) afternoon after a “serious” road crash on the main N25 Rosslare Road.
The road was closed to traffic from the Danby Lodge to Ashfield roundabout with gardaí, the fire service and the national ambulance service all in attendance at the scene. The road is expected to remain closed for a time to allow gardaí to carry out a full technical examination of the scene and to clear the road of debris. Motorists are being urged to avoid the area and take alternative routes.
It is understood that the main car involved may have collided with a tree on the roadside before being sent spinning into another oncoming car. The driver and passenger were both rushed to hospital by ambulance and their condition is understood to be stable.
The driver of the other car involved was left shaken, but uninjured.
