The Skin Nerd and Skingredients founder discusses milestones and dealing with menstrual disorder

When Jennifer Rock, founder of The Skin Nerd beauty business, was planning her September 2024 wedding to long-term partner Jill Deering, she knew she wanted candid photos and footage of the big day. She wanted the memories to be real, rather than too staged or posed.

It makes sense, then, that when Rock realised that there was blood on her wedding dress due to a heavy period, she asked a friend in the bathroom to video her washing it off. Rock hasn’t shared the video, but she has kept it with other memories of the highs and lows of 2024: the year she got married, the year her son Matthew turned 21 and when she removed her womb.
