Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the fatal single-vehicle road traffic incident

A man in his 70s has died after the van he was driving crashed on the R245 at Carrigart, Co Donegal, earlier today.

The incident occurred at approximately 1pm.

His body has since been removed to the mortuary at Letterkenny University Hospital where a post-mortem examination is due to take place. No other injuries were reported.

The road is closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, with local diversions in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the fatal single-vehicle road traffic incident.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 12.10pm and 1.10pm are asked to make this available to investigating gardaí.
