Senator Frances Black ‘open to conversation’ on presidential bid

Senator and Irish singer Frances Black has said she is “open to the conversation” on whether to become a presidential candidate.

The Independent Aenator said that some opposition parties have asked if she is willing to consider entering the race for the Áras this year.

She said she is “not actively seeking it” but is open to the idea.

 

“There’s been no decisions made,” the Dubliner told RTÉ’s The Late Late Show on Friday.

“People have come to me and said ‘Are you open to the conversation?’, and I said ‘I am open to the conversation’.

“But there probably will be other people [who] will be actively seeking this as well.

“So I am not actively seeking it, but look, I am open to the conversation, of course I’m open to all conversations. But no, I haven’t made any decisions whatsoever, and that is the truth.”
