Bitter Web Summit dispute finally settles, as Paddy Cosgrave says his ‘tweets about individuals concerned remain online… because they're true’

Web Summit dispute has finally been resolved – High Court toldDetails of the settlement were not disclosed in court

Joe Jeffers SC, for Web Summit shareholder David Kelly (41), told the court five lawsuits involving his client, Paddy Cosgrave (42) and Daire Hickey (38) “are resolved satisfactorily between the parties”.

At his request, Mr Justice Michael Twomey adjourned the matter until April 29.

Details of the settlement were not disclosed in court and there was no mention of who would pay the costs of the case.

However, it appears Mr Cosgrave has bought the shares of Mr Hickey and Mr Cosgrave as part of the settlement.

He also claimed in a statement that Mr Hickey and Mr Cosgrave had acknowledged that he was the founder of the business and that they were not co-founders.

“This is a great day for Web Summit,” said Mr Cosgrave.

“We are delighted to have finally removed these two individuals as minority shareholders.
