‘Simply not acceptable’ – Simon Harris to raise government’s frustration at delays in Private Seán Rooney case on Lebanon trip
Private Rooney (24) was killed in December 2022 while serving on a United Nations peacekeeping mission in the region.
A number of people have since been charged as part of the investigation into his death, but the case has been beset by multiple delays.
The Tánaiste said delay in making progress in delivering justice for the family of Private Sean Rooney is “simply not acceptable”.
Speaking to reporters before a visit to Lebanon, Mr Harris said he would be conveying that message “in the strongest possible terms” during political meetings.
