Ireland set for record cruise liner season as over 100 ships set to hit shores this year
The cruise season begins from March 27 when the first major cruise liner arrives in Dublin.
The Viking Vela will bring almost 1,000 passengers to Dublin – but it will be just the first in a fleet of over 100 vessels to berth between March and November.
Cork will welcome 93 cruise liners with the first vessel due to arrive in early April.
Belfast is expected to handle almost 150 cruise liners – and the season will mark the 1,500th cruise liner visit for the historic port.
Last year Belfast welcomed 260,000 cruise liner passengers and crew in a bumper year for the port.
