A section of the road has been sealed off by Gardaí

Gardaí are currently the scene of a ‘serious incident’ that took place on the outskirts of Cork City.

The incident took place on the Wellington Road, earlier today.

Gardaí say as the incident is ongoing, no further information is available.

It’s believed that a man has been left in a serious condition following what is believed to have been a stabbing incident on the northside of the city.

The man, in his 20s, was treated on the scene by members of the National Ambulance Service, after being found on the road with what are being described as ‘serious injuries’.

He was then taken to Cork University Hospital.

A section of the road had been sealed off by Gardaí, who remain on the scene, but it has since reopened.
