Playwright and literary researcher Jimmy Murphy has discovered what he believes is the “lost” first play by Brendan Behan hidden in the archives of the National Library of Ireland.
Titled The Rent Woman, the work’s mysterious disappearance has intrigued Murphy, who has now discovered the first act of the play written in English.
