Four teen youths arrested by Armed Support Unit in Cavan

Four male teenagers were arrested after a number of incidents of theft from businesses in Co Cavan and Co Monaghan on Friday, March 14th.

Shortly before 8pm, gardaí attached to the Divisional Armed Support Unit carried out a search on a vehicle in Cavan town, while out on routine patrol.

The occupents of the car, four male youths in their late teens, were arrested with assistance from gardaí in Cavan Community Engagement and Crime Units.

A number of items were recovered from the vehicle.

The vehicle had been the subject of an unauthorised taking earlier in Dublin 22.

Three of the four juveniles have been released pending referral to the Garda Youth Diversion Programme.

The fourth remains in custody at a garda station in the Cavan/Monaghan division.

Investigations are ongoing, gardaí said.
