Ian Harte, the former Ireland footballer, has deleted references to him being a football agent from his online professional profile after the Sunday Independent established that he is not a registered football agent.

Harte has sparked a backlash from leading League of Ireland managers Damien Duff, Stephen Kenny and Stephen Bradley after he told a bookmaker that Irish clubs were harming the careers of young players by seeking transfer fees that were too high.
