A new €5.5 million cycle track has opened along Dublin’s south quays.
The George’s Quay to Aston Quay route has seen an upgrade of the existing road layout to improve walking and cycling facilities.
The cycle path was officially opened on Thursday morning by the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Emma Blain.
The expected final cost of the route opened today is €5.5 million, approximately 18 per cent under budget.
Construction began in March 2024 and has come in ahead of schedule.
