You could hear in his voice that the caller to Liveline (RTÉ1, weekdays, 1.45pm) was deeply upset. “I was really, really shocked,” he said. “I was actually in bits crying.” It was not the first time this issue had upset him, but this time it was probably the worst. Joe Duffy was there: “Is this the angriest you’ve been?”
At some point RTÉ could run a competition, a kind of Mystery Voice thing, in which listeners are played these excerpts and asked to guess what the man was talking about.
