Irish dancing may appear to be a world of dazzling costumes, intricate footwork, perfect manicured hair, but when we peel back the curtains on this glamorous sport, we come to learn it is also a community synonymous with drama.
From as far back as the World Championships last March, rumours have been circulating about Richard Griffin, a prominent Irish dancing teacher with more than 50 world titles to his name. Just last year, he was honoured with a prestigious Gradam Award for his lifelong commitment to Irish dancing.
But, depending on who you talked to, Mr Griffin had apparently been convicted of crimes so serious that he was facing over 20 years in a UK prison. And what was worse, CLRG was covering it up.
