Newstalk's Kieran Cuddihy to take over as presenter of Virgin Media’s flagship The Tonight Show

A cornerstone in Irish broadcasting, The Tonight Show has been on air for almost 20 years, including a decade-long stint from stalwart Vincent Browne.

Over that time, it has driven debate and analysis of the stories and issues that matter to the public, from the financial crash to the Covid pandemic and the current housing crisis.

Mr Cuddihy will begin presenting from March 4, with the show airing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

A native of Kilkenny, he is the presenter of Newstalk’s show, The Hard Shoulder and will continue in that role on the radio.

He originally studied Law in UCC and after that went on to study for the Law Society entrance exams, qualifying in April 2009.

Following a stint in a law firm in Vancouever, Canada for a year, he returned to Ireland to study a Masters in Journalism in DCU.

Two years later he started working in Newstalk, on an unpaid work placement and has never left since, starting as a researcher on the Breakfast show to a station reporter to a presenter.
