Met Éireann issues Status Yellow warning for two counties as heavy rain on the way

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rain warning for Cork and Waterford with heavy rain on the way for the west and south of the country.

The warning will be in place in Cork between 1pm today and 8am on Friday. There will be spells of heavy rain in south Cork and possible impacts include spot flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions.

Meanwhile, the rain warning will be in place for Waterford from 6pm this evening to noon tomorrow.

This morning will be mostly cloudy and many areas will be dry, though there will be light rain or drizzle in parts of Connacht and Munster.

Heavier rain will then spread northeastwards over Connacht and Munster in the afternoon and evening, bringing the possibility of some spot flooding near the south coast. Highest temperatures will range from 4 to 8 degrees.
