Sub-zero temperatures expected overnight as Met Éireann forecasts cold week ahead

A cold, dry start to the weekend will bring sunny spells in parts of the west, but cloud and light showers across Leinster and Ulster.
Met Éireann has forecast that some showers may turn wintery over higher ground in the east.
Highest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees are expected before dropping as low as minus 3 to 2 degrees tonight, bringing some frost and icy patches.
Some light showers are expected tomorrow as temperatures are expected to reach between 4 and 8 degrees.
The coming days will be cold with below average temperatures for the time of year, Met Éireann has said.
Monday will see cloudy conditions with scattered outbreaks of light rain developing in the east and north at first then becoming more widespread.
Temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees are expected before dropping between 1 and 5 degrees overnight.
