Young man fighting for his life following Wexford road crash in the early hours

Gardaí are continuing to investigate the cause of a single-vehicle road collision on Monday that left a young man in his 20s critically injured in hospital. (Niall Carson/PA).
A young man aged in his 20s is currently fighting for his life in hospital following a horrific road crash in rural Wexford in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the single-vehicle collision on the R734 at Poulfur where they discovered the young man, who is believed to have suffered an “extremely serious” head injury.
He was taken into the care of the National Ambulance Services who rushed him to University Hospital Waterford where he remains in critical condition.
An Garda Síochána were present at the scene and the road was closed to allow for a full technical examination from garda forensic collision investigators. They described the incident as “extremely serious”.
