Girlfriend of man battered in Donegal attack pleads for prayers for 'long road ahead'

The heartbroken girlfriend of a Co Donegal man who is fighting for his life after being attacked by five men has pleaded for prayers for him saying he has “a long road ahead.”

Charles Dooher was beaten by five masked men armed with iron batons at his home on the Coneyburrow Road in the border town of Lifford on Monday January 20th.

Girlfriend Charlotte Gallen and his loving family have been at his bedside at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast ever since the horrific attack.

It is understood Charles, who is in his 20s, suffered brutal head injuries during the attack which happened at 10.30am in broad daylight.

Devastated Charlotte pleaded with the public for their prayers.

She said “Can everyone keep Charles Dooher in their thoughts and prayers as he’s still fighting the fight of his life, with a long road ahead.

“A best friend, a godfather and a role model to anyone who knew him.”
